Geraldine Birks
Geraldine is a DCP Postgraduate Tutor for Health Education England (HEE), across Yorkshire and the Humber, based at the University of Leeds. This role involves the identification and commissioning of education suitable for the dental team and quality assurance management inspections of Foundation Dental training practices, Longitudinal and Special Care Dentistry programmes. Geraldine is a Specialist Dental Advisor for the Care Quality Commission (CQC), lectures throughout East Midlands and the North of England on dental ethics and infection control and maintains clinical practice in York. Geraldine holds a BA (Hons) in Education and Professional Development, the University Certificate in Education, is a Dental Licentiate and qualified in Dental Conscious Sedation, Oral Health, Health and Safety and Legionella prevention. In 2017, Geraldine became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, Faculty of Dental Trainers. Prior to commencing as a Clinical Case Examiner, Geraldine had three roles with the GDC as an Investigating Committee Chair, QA Educational Inspector of UK dental schools and a Registration Assessor of EEA and Non EEA Applicants.
