New Council and committee member appointments

Following an open and competitive recruitment process, we are pleased to announce the appointments of Reshard Auladin, Jane Slatter and Sarah Ramage to our Council and committees.

Reshard Auladin will be a lay Council member replacing Terry Babbs, who will reach the end of his term in September 2024. Jane Slatter will be the independent member of the Remuneration and Nomination (RemNom) Committee, replacing Ann Brown, who will reach the end of her term in October 2024. Sarah Ramage will be a registrant member of the Statutory Panellists Assurance Committee (SPC), replacing Serbjit Kaur, who stepped down from SPC following her appointment to the GDC’s Council.

Reshard, Jane and Sarah will all take up their new roles in early October. All three appointees bring a wealth of different experiences and skills that will be invaluable to the Council and committees they will be joining.

Reshard Auladin – new lay member of Council

Reshard has a background in mental health, law enforcement, criminal justice and the charity sector. He is an experienced non-executive director and has served on the boards of several law enforcement agencies including the National Crime Agency and the Metropolitan Police Authority, where he was Chair of the Professional Standards Committee for nearly 10 years.

Reshard currently holds non-executive positions at the Fundraising Regulator, The Bell Foundation and Foundations, What Works Centre for children and families.

Reshard runs a small business in the mental health care sector. Early in his career, he qualified as a registered psychiatric nurse and worked in the NHS.  

Reshard served as a magistrate for three decades and sat in both criminal and family courts.

Jane Slatter – new independent member of RemNom

Jane has had a varied executive career across the commercial and public sectors, before developing a mixed portfolio of human resources consultancy, coaching and non-executive roles.

For the last six years, Jane has sat on the Board of the Central London Community Healthcare Trust (CLCH). During this time, she has chaired CLCH’s People Committee and Remuneration Committee, and will be taking on the role of Chair of the trust’s Quality Committee. Alongside her role at CLCH, Jane has also chaired the Appointments Board at the Nursing and Midwifery Council. Jane was also Vice-Chair and Remuneration and Resources Chair at Radian Housing Group from 2010 to 2013 and served as Trustee of the Slough and Berkshire branch of Help the Aged.

In her early career, Jane worked in a variety of sectors as an HR professional, including at HR Director level at Bull Information Systems and Centrica plc from 1997 to 2006.

Sarah Ramage – new registrant member of the SPC

Sarah has spent much of her dental career in the military, gradually working up to the position of Chief Dental Officer (CDO) Defence, reporting to the Surgeon General for the Armed Forces. As CDO Defence, Sarah sat on the Primary Healthcare Governance Committee and acted as dental advisor to the Army Health Board.

Since 2023, Sarah has been working as Head of Clinical Affairs at Straumann Group, a global provider of tooth replacement and orthodontic solutions. When Sarah left the military in 2019, she worked as Clinical Director, Dental at Bupa dentalcare.

Sarah began her non-executive career in 2017 taking on the role of Dental Specialist Advisor at the Care Quality Commission and as President of the Armed Forces Group at the British Dental Association. In 2020, she took on the role of Honorary Colonel Commandant of the Royal Army Dental Corps.

Chair welcomes the appointments 

In announcing their appointments, Chair of Council, Lord Toby Harris, said:

They have demonstrated their enthusiasm, passion, and breadth of view, and have shown that they will be able to provide new perspectives and insights to the Council and committees they are joining.’
