Health and wellbeing leadership in the dental team

Catherine is the Director of Clinician Engagement for Portman Dentex, a Dental Service Organisation with over 340 practices and 2400 clinicians. Catherine is responsible for maintaining a happy and motivated clinical workforce across the business, works as part of the Senior Leadership Team and manages a team of nine Clinician Engagement Leads. The team are focussed on building a supportive network and community within the business and also creating a unique clinician value proposition to attract and retain clinicians.

Catherine is also a practising dentist and still works clinically in the practice that she owned for 12 years before selling to Portman in 2018, having grown the business and relocated it during this period. Catherine has a strong focus on effective teamwork within the profession, a passion for providing amazing customer service alongside high standards of patient care.

Graduating from The University of Manchester in 1993, Catherine was a Vocational Trainee in North Yorkshire and has worked across four practices in both NHS and Private settings in North Yorkshire and taught as a Clinical demonstrator at The University of Leeds
