Book your place online
Please note, your online account will display the time in the UK and should be used for the booking opening time.
Priority candidates (those who may only have a few sittings available to them before their time limit expires) will receive a separate email from us with details of how to secure a place.
Candidates with refugee status must confirm their intention to book a priority place by 17:00 on Friday 10 October (Part 1) or Tuesday 18 November 2025 (Part 2). If we have already verified your refugee status, you will not need to share the documentation again. If you are yet to provide the necessary documents, we will need to verify them before we can organise the booking. If you are successful in booking a place, you will need to make payment within 48 hours. If a third party will be paying on your behalf, please ensure that they are aware of these timeframes.
We anticipate a high level of demand for all exam sittings and, after priority places are allocated, we book candidates on a first-come, first-served, basis.
Useful information
We recognise that candidates who are unable to book will be disappointed. Due to high demand when the exam window opens, it can take a few minutes for the system to update. If you see an error message, this usually means that the exam is now full.
You can log in to your account using only one device at a time. If you’re already logged in and you try to log in with another device, or in a new internet browser window, you will receive a message and be automatically logged out. This is to ensure that as many places as possible are open to candidates who are trying to book a place. You will also be automatically logged out if your account has been inactive for 15 minutes.
You might find the following helpful when making your booking:
- The time displayed is UK time
- The exam will appear in the bookings tab as ‘unavailable’ eight hours before it opens, alongside the time it’s due to open. If you’re already logged in at the time it opens, you will need to refresh your browser to be able to make your booking
- When all places have been booked, the bookings tab will display ‘closed – examination full’ for two hours.
- Only log in to your account if you want to book a place on the exam and can pay the fee. You will need to make your payment when you book (your booking will not be processed if you’ve not paid within one hour). If you’re not able to make the payment, please do not attempt to book a place
- If you select ‘book exam and pay’ with no intention of sitting the exam or making a payment, you will be prevented from booking onto the next available sitting
- If you were attempting to book and pay for a place and ran into difficulties, please contact the Examinations team to resolve the issue.
Payments by cheque are available only to candidates being sponsored by an organisation working with refugees or a charity. Please call the Examinations team on +44 (0)20 7167 6050 as soon as possible to check the booking procedure if this applies to you.
Please ensure that you read our withdrawal and refund policies before booking a place on to the examination.
If you want your name removed from the ORE candidate list, please contact the Examinations team by email. Please also contact them if you have any questions or queries.
ORE rules
At the time of applying to sit the ORE, candidates agree to abide by the ORE rules, which clearly state that misuse of examination material, eg by passing or attempting to pass such material to a third party, is an example of misconduct and will result in the candidate failing the examination and may impact on GDC registration should the candidate subsequently pass the ORE.
We are aware that some past and present ORE candidates have posted material from the ORE online. Any information posted or passed between candidates about previous examination questions is in serious breach of the ORE rules and we will take further action if this occurs.
ORE preparation
The GDC does not endorse any groups offering ORE preparation or application checking. We will never ask for a fee other than the application, examination and registration fees. Candidates should not share their personal information in these groups and must not share their account log in details with anyone. If you’re unsure about information you’ve received about the ORE, please contact us on 020 7167 6000 to check its validity.
