Sakina Needham
Sakina is an experienced dental nurse, educator, and leader with over 20 years of industry experience. Sakina’s journey spans clinical practice, management roles, workforce development, and community engagement.
Since 2012, Sakina has contributed to community oral health education and outreach across diverse populations as a dental nurse, particularly South Asian and other ethnic minority communities affected by cultural isolation.
Passionate about prevention, Sakina recognises the vital link between oral health and overall wellbeing and champions efforts to reduce inequalities in access to health services.
In 2024, Sakina was appointed Compliance Manager in Warwickshire, where she leads on maintaining safe, effective, and patient-centered dental services.
Sakina also sits on the Executive Committee of the British Fluoridation Society, contributing to national advocacy for equitable oral healthcare and championing the role and scope of practice of dental nurses in this sector.
Alongside her leadership roles, Sakina runs a locum dental nursing and business growth service, and is recognised for her compassionate leadership, practical insight and commitment to supporting both patients and professionals to thrive.
