Historic qualifications

There are some dentist and dental care professional (DCP) qualifications that may not be offered by a school or institution anymore but with which an individual may be registered.

The qualifications on this page are those that are acceptable for registration although they are no longer offered by the school or institution. If your qualification is listed, and was granted within the specified time-frame (if applicable), then you can apply for registration.

If your qualification is still being offered at the school or institution where you studied then you will need to visit our recent inspection pages to find out if you can still apply for registration.

You will not be able to apply for registration if your qualification has not been approved or found to be sufficient. If you have any queries then please contact the Quality Assurance team. Please note that the GDC only approves UK qualifications. If you have a dentist or DCP qualification from outside the UK, you will need to find out what your route to registration is before contacting the GDC for an application pack.

NVQ Level 3 in Dental Nursing/VRQ
Awarded by City & Guilds. Qualification awarded from 2007; VRQ not present on certificate​.
