Review of Education 2021-2022
Background
As part of our role as the regulatory body for dentists and dental care professionals (DCPs), the General Dental Council (GDC) has a statutory responsibility to promote high standards of education in all aspects of dentistry and, consequently, sets out requirements for all UK programmes that lead to registration as a dental professional.
We have responsibility for the quality assurance of education and training leading to registration to make sure that each programme meets the requirements that have been set. The purpose of this process is to fulfil our primary role to protect patients.
