Alice Robertson Rickard
Alice Robertson Rickard is a part-time Judge of the First-tier Tribunal. She sits in the Social Entitlement Chamber, where she chairs appeals against decisions of the Department of Work and Pensions to refuse claims for benefits related to disability and fitness to work. She also sits in the Health, Education and Social Care Chamber, where she chairs Mental Health Tribunals. In addition to this, Alice also sits on the fitness to practise committees of the General Optical Council, General Pharmaceutical Council and Nursing and Midwifery Council. Prior to her judicial appointment, she practised as a barrister for over ten years, specialising in clinical negligence and crime. Alice was called to the Bar in 1996 and is a member of Gray’s Inn (Gerald Moody scholar). She graduated from the University of Sussex in 1995 with a first class honours degree in law.
