Investigating Committee, Lay Case Examiner

Glenn Mathieson

After graduating in Law from the University of Warwick, Glenn’s career was in criminal justice. Following spells with the Home Office and Police Complaints Authority, Glenn spent 13 years with the Criminal Cases Review Commission, where he was responsible for reviewing and investigating possible miscarriages of justice. The focus of Glenn’s work predominantly involved serious and complex criminal cases, and he developed a specialism in the review of murder investigations. He has dealt with a number of significant and high profile cases, as well as those involving the most sensitive inquiries into matters such as informants, protected witnesses and jury irregularities.

In addition to his criminal justice work, Glenn spent six years sitting part-time as an Employment Tribunal member, and seven years on the board of trustees of a regional learning disabilities charity.
