Searching our Registers
You can search for a dental professional by forename, surname, town or postcode, or a combination of one or more of these categories. You do not need to enter details in each of the search categories to be able to run a search. You can also search by registration number.

Each registered dental professional has their own individual number, so this will bring up an exact match. Where there are two records for a registrant this indicates they are dually registered, for example they may be registered both as a dentist and a dental hygienist.

Search results
Our database will bring up a dental professional’s:

• registration number
• full name
• full registered address
• date of first registration
• primary dental qualification

It will also tell you whether a dentist is on one of our Specialist Lists.

Please note a dental professional’s registered address is not necessarily their practice address - it could be their home address, or another address they have provided so we can keep in contact with them. The GDC is not able to provide telephone numbers for dentists.

Please also note if you are searching for a DCP or Specialist the Dentist Register option is automatically chosen by default, you will need to click the approriate register or list before you continue with your search.
