DCP training course providers

Sound and relevant training is essential so that all members of the dental team provide patients with good care and treatment. The Council scrutinises the content and quality of education provided for those training to be Dental Care Professionals (DCPs).

Examinations are administered by each of the individual providers across the UK and the Council approves all courses and examinations.

In October 2003, following wide consultation, the Council agreed the document 'Developing the Dental Team: Curricula Frameworks for Registrable Qualifications for Professionals Complementary to Dentistry' which sets out curricula requirements for qualifications which will lead to GDC registration for each of the six groups of DCPs.
