Information for potential registrants

By law, all dentists, dental hygienists, dental therapists, clinical dental technicians and orthodontic therapists have to register with us to work in the UK. 

Dental nurses and dental technicians can also now register with us. Registration for these two groups of dental care professionals is compulsory from 30 July 2008. 

This part of the website aims to provide information specific to you as a potential GDC registrant. Here you can find out how to apply for registration with the Council - whether you're a student dentist, a dentist from overseas, or a dental care professional (DCP) joining our new DCP Register.
