Guidance documents relating to the ORE

The Overseas Registration Exam (ORE) is designed to test the knowledge, skills and professionalism relating to the practise of dentistry expected of graduate dentists on first registration with the General Dental Council (GDC). This means that UK graduates and overseas dentists are expected to have the same basic level of knowledge and skills.

You are not expected to be familiar with the National Health Service (NHS) or British culture other than in the way it might affect how you treat patients. You should be familiar with how people in the UK might behave but you should not make assumptions about a patient, for example assumptions based on their gender or ethnic origin.
