How to contact the examinations team

The majority of correspondence from the GDC to ORE candidates will be by email.  Candidates are encouraged to contact us by email, but may also visit in person or telephone the examinations team.  Details are given below.

Emailing the examinations team

Please email your comments and queries to examinations@gdc-uk.org. We will endeavour to respond in full to every email within five working days; if this is not possible we will acknowledge your email within five working days and send a full response within ten working days.

Telephoning the examinations team

To discuss a query over the telephone, please dial +44(0)20 7344 3735 and you will be connected directly to the examinations team.

Visiting the examinations team

If you have a query regarding the examination which you wish to discuss face to face with one of the examinations team, please telephone +44(0)20 7344 3735, or send an email to examinations@gdc-uk.org to make an appointment. Appointments are available during our office hours, which are Monday to Friday, 9am until 5pm.

We will try to see everyone, but please note that if you do not have an appointment we might not be able to see you immediately. Should this be the case we will offer you an appointment within the next half-working day.

How to provide feedback

Feedback, either positive or negative, must be provided by the candidate affected; we will not usually correspond with third-parties. We accept feedback either verbally or in writing. Candidates wishing to provide feedback in writing must submit their complaint using the feedback form.

We welcome anonymous feedback from candidates who are not comfortable with revealing their identity.  If you wish to submit feedback anonymously, please print a copy of the feedback form, complete it and post to the Examinations Team at the address given below.

Completed feedback forms should be addressed to the Examinations Team Leader and sent to General Dental Council, 37 Wimpole Street, London W1G 8DQ or emailed to examinations@gdc-uk.org.  

Oral feedback should be given to the Examinations Team (+44(0)20 7344 3735). These calls will be transcribed onto the feedback form and verified with the candidate by email. 
Specific complaints about the ORE should be made within 28 days of having sat the examination.

 

Our commitment to dealing with negative feedback

It is part of our responsibility to deal properly and professionally with complaints. All complaints will be looked into.

We aim to sort out complaints quickly, effectively and smoothly as possible. We guarantee to acknowledge all complaints within five working days and aim to respond to each complaint fully by the tenth working day. If we cannot give a full response by ten working days we will contact you to let you know why, and give you a realistic timeframe for when we will get back to you
