GDC Council Meeting – Thursday 8 December 2011

The next meeting of the General Dental Council (GDC) will take place on Thursday 8 December 2011 in the Council Chamber, General Dental Council, 37 Wimpole Street, London W1G 8DQ from 10.30am.

Key items to be considered at the December meeting include:

• The Council will be asked to agree that the Executive should proceed with steps to prepare for a Section 60 Order to facilitate further Fitness to Practise process improvements.

• The Council will be asked to approve new guidance on ethical advertising.

• The Council will be asked to approve the revised Scope of Practice guidance for consultation.

• The Council will be asked to approve the creation of a Task and Finish Group to consider policy on Direct Access to patients by Dental Care Professionals.

Questions from members of the public should be put in writing to the Council Secretary (csecretary@gdc-uk.org or 37 Wimpole Street, London W1G 8DQ), to be received no later than 5pm on Monday 5 December 2011. Written responses will be provided to members of the public on the day or will be sent within 7 working days and posted on the website.

The full agenda and papers will be available on our website www.gdc-uk.org a week ahead of the meeting.
