Principles of dental team working supports our core standards document Standards for dental professionals, and applies to all the members of the dental team who we register.

The guidance is about how the dental team can best work together in the interests of patients. It explains:

• What the dental team is
• Dental professionals' individual responsibilites within the team; and
• How to work effectively as a team, whether or not you are based on the same site.

It sets out the framework for how the dental team should work together, bearing in mind that new groups of dental care professionals have now begun registering with the GDC.
