Calling all dental nurses and dental technicians – if you’re on a career break and planning to return to work in the UK, then by law, you must register with the UK dental regulator, the General Dental Council (GDC), by 30 July 2008.
After July, only those who hold an up to date qualification will be able to register. So if you have experience, or an old-style qualification, you’ll need to register now or lose the opportunity.
Further information and an application pack is available on this website.

Notes to editors:
1. Compulsory registration for dental nurses and dental technicians comes into force on 30 July 2008. After this time it will be illegal to use the titles ‘dental nurse’ or dental technician’ without holding appropriate registration with the GDC.
2. The registration fee is currently £96, and will cover you until July 2009 when the first annual retention fee is due.
