The General Dental Council (GDC) is currently looking at how it might better regulate the dental profession to make sure that everyone who registers as a dental professional meets our standards, not only when they first register but throughout their working lives.

Please note: the following is for information only. The closing date for responses to this consultation was Friday 30 November. Compulsory registration for all six groups of dental care professionals (DCPs) will begin on 1 August 2008. With this in mind, the GDC has set up a working group to look at how best to assess overseas (non-EEA) DCPs suitability for registration. To inform our work at this early stage, we would welcome your views on possible assessment methods and other issues you think the working group should take into account. The deadline for contributing to our Call for Ideas is Friday 30 November.
