In December 2011 the Council made the General Dental Council (Delegation of Function) Rules 2011. The Rules gave effect to the governance changes agreed by the Council, namely that the quality assurance of dental education should be delegated to the Chief Executive and Registrar.
The Education Committee is no longer in existence.The Council is advised on matters relating to specialist training and listing by the Specialist Dental Education Board.
