Summary:

One of the principal ways in which we protect patients is by issuing standards and guidance which all those on our registers must follow. To find out more about our current standards, please see the <a href="/Dentalprofessionals/Standards/Pages/default.aspx">standards pages </a>on our website.

Background:

We began a review of our current Standards Guidance at the end of 2010 and throughout the review we have gathered evidence from a variety of sources, details of which can be found on our <a href="/Aboutus/Researchandconsultations/Pages/Review-of-Standards-research.aspx">research page</a>.
We undertook a consultation on the draft GDC Standards of Conduct, Performance and Ethics which will replace our current Standards Guidance.

How to respond:

The consultation closed on 31 December 2012 and we unable to accept any late responses. The feedback from this consultation will be presented to the Council during the early part of 2013.
