Our complaints policy
We are committed to providing a high quality service to all our customers, but if something goes wrong we need to know. This will help us to learn from our mistakes and improve our standards.
Who are our customers?
Anyone who contacts the General Dental Council.
What are Customer Service Complaints?
Complaints about the standard of administration or other service provided in response to a contact made with members of the GDC staff: e.g. if you consider that there have been unacceptable delays in dealing with your request or problem, or that a member of the Council’s staff has been rude to you.
What are not Customer Service Complaints?
Complaints about a decision which has been based on GDC guidelines or policy. For these, you should write to the person you have been dealing with or the departmental manager.

Our complaints procedure
Whatever your complaint the Complaints Manager concerned will reply within five working days according to Council wide procedures. A note setting out our customer service complaints procedure in detail will be sent to you with this acknowledgement.
