Standards compliance

We aim to ensure that all General Dental Council webpages conform to the World Wide Web Consortium's (W3C) Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (AA Standard).  We are striving to improve this site's accessibility on an ongoing basis. 

Browsers

The GDC website is best viewed with Internet Explorer 6 or higher and the latest Mozilla based and Netscape browsers.

Links

The GDC Website has been constructed to be accessible via screen readers and text based browsers by placing all the navigation links at the top of the page. 

Images

All content images include descriptive ALT attributes to describe what the image is trying to portray. 

Screen readers

This site has been constructed to be compliant with industry standard screen readers.

Downloading or reading documents

Most documents are currently available in pdf format.  A support link to access adobe acrobat reader is available on our publications page.

Printing

All the information on individual pages are ‘printer friendly’.  Please use the icon towards the top and on the right of each page. 

Content

We have made every effort to make sure text is easy to understand.

To view the website in different text sizes, simply click  View within the internet browser menu and then select Text Size and then select the appropriate option for yourself.
