Working for us

If you’re interested in coming to work for us at the GDC, you can find and apply for current vacancies on our new recruitment website.

Things are changing at the GDC. In recent years, our organisation has doubled in size and now all dentists, dental nurses, dental technicians, dental hygienists, dental therapists, clinical dental technicians and orthodontic therapists must be registered with us to work in the UK. In short, we‘re going through a period of transformation, so there’s never been a more exciting time to join us.

As a regulator, it’s our role not only to protect the public but to promote the highest standards of dental care. This means we take a great deal of pride in the work we do and have a firm commitment to be the best at what we do by 2012. That’s why we continue to seek out the very brightest and most talented individuals to bring us their ideas, skills and experience. And, in return, we promise to build on all these by investing in potential, encouraging commitment and offering a broad range of challenges across our unique organisation.

We’re looking for the kind of people with skills, experience and expertise who can really hit the ground running. People with a proactive approach, who aren’t afraid to challenge the status quo and do things differently. Above all, you’ll want to get better all the time, both personally and professionally. So you’ll feel right at home in our culture of continuous improvement. And because we’re a nimble organisation that listens to and encourages fresh thinking and new ideas, you’ll have every opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to what we do here.

If you are an agency wishing to support our recruitment requirements, please visit the preferred suppliers list information.

We do not employ professional dental staff.  We deal with registration, dental education, professional standards, conduct and continuing professional development of dental professionals in the UK. If you are a dental professional seeking employment, contact the British Dental Association (BDA) for more details about opportunities in the UK.
