Sally Irvine

Sally Irvine worked with the Greater London Council for several years, and was Chief Executive of the Royal College of General Practitioners from 1984 to 1993. She was a non-executive member of the Northern Region Health Board and chaired Newcastle City Health NHS Trust from its inception in 1983 until 1999. In recent years Sally has concentrated on her work as a professional practice consultant in primary care organisation.

Sally is a member of the Solicitors Regulation Authority of the Law Society of England and Wales, a member of the Court of the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne and a trustee of several charities, including Total Learning Challenge in Newcastle, which she chairs. She was a member of the Newcastle Common Purpose Advisory Board from 1996 to 2001. She is an Honorary Fellow of the Royal College of General Practitioners and a Fellow of the Association of Managers in General Practice.
