Raj RajaRayan qualifed as a dentist at Guy's Dental School and undertook postgraduate training at the Eastman Dental Institute. He has held various hospital posts in prosthetics, conservation, periodontology and oral surgery, and various part-time university posts, including Senior Research Fellow and Senior Lecturer at the Royal London Dental School and the Eastman Dental Institute. He now works primarily as a general dental practitioner in London.
Raj is Associate Dean of Postgraduate Dentistry at the London Deanery. He is a former Dean of the Faculty of General Dental Practitioners (UK) at the Royal College of Surgeons of England, and past President/Chairman of the British Society for General Dental Surgery, the Anglo-Asian Odontological Group and the Pierre Fauchard Academy. He is a member and examiner of the National Examining Board for Dental Nurses, a director of the Dentists' Provident Society, Chair of a drug action and alcohol abuse group and a member of the Lord Chancellor's Judicial Appointments Group.
