Mabel Slater qualified as a dental hygienist at Manchester Dental School and since then has worked in general dental practice and in education. Until recently Mabel was Head of the Unit of Oral Health Science at Manchester Dental School. She has now moved to the newly-created post of Director of Professionals Complementary to Dentistry at Guy's, King's & St Thomas' Trust.
Mabel has held a number of offices at regional, national and international level, including President of the British Dental Hygienists Association, Deputy Editor of Dental Health publication and Director of the International Dental Hygienist Federation. Mabel has a special interest in Lifelong Learning for professionals complementary to dentistry.
