John Gibson

John Gibson qualified in dentistry in 1986 from Glasgow, and in medicine from the University of Glasgow in 1992.  He went on to train as a specialist in Oral Medicine in Glasgow and in Charlotte, North Carolina, where he is a Visiting Professor of Oral Medicine.  John has also spent some time working with medical teams in Central America.  In 1997 he was appointed Honorary Consultant in Oral Medicine in Glasgow Dental Hospital & School, and Senior Lecturer in 2000.  He also served as Associate Dean for Dental Education in the Dental School in Glasgow from 2000-2002 and as Associate Dean for Postgraduate Dental Education for Scotland with NHS Education for Scotland from 2002-2004.

John is now Consultant and Honorary Senior Lecturer in Oral Medicine at Dundee Dental Hospital & School, NHS Tayside.  He lectures to medical and dental audiences on Oral Medicine and Human Disease throughout the UK and has a particular interest in Vocational Training.
