Jane Holt
Jane Holt (formerly Thomas) qualified as a dental therapist and hygienist in 1985 from St Bartholomew's and the Royal London Hospitals. She returned to the Royal London in 1987 as a Tutor and from 1987 she completed the Diploma in Dental Health Education, the further education teaching certificate, a BEd (Hons) and MSc in Health and Welfare.
Jane has represented the interests of nurses, therapists and hygienists on several committees, which include Regional Representative of the British Association of Dental Therapists and then Secretary. She was elected on to the GDC Dental Auxiliaries Committee from 1991-2001. She was a member of the Nuffield Inquiry in 1991-1993 and later joined the Dental Auxiliary Review Group in 1997 with specific interest in orthodontist therapists.
As Principal of St Bartholomew's and the Royal London from 1988-1997, Jane co-ordinated the education and services for all dental care professionals (DCP). From 1997-2003 she visited DCP training establishments to report for the GDC.
Jane is presently working in private practice and Principal Tutor for the Programme of Hygiene and Therapy at the University of Leeds. She is External Examiner to Hygiene and Therapy programmes at Guys Kings and St Thomas's and St Bartholomews and The Royal London Hospital.
In 2003 Jane was awarded the Roll of Honour from the British Association of Dental Therapists.
