Caroline Clitter
Caroline is a qualified dental hygienist and therapist; currently she works as a dental hygienist for six sessions a week in a private practice in Hampshire. She has worked in dental hospitals, community clinics, NHS and private practices. In addition, early in her career she worked as a dental therapist in Minneapolis, USA.
Caroline edited Dental Health, the journal of the British Dental Hygienists’ Association (BDHA) for ten years. Following that, she was elected as BDHA’s President. During this time the Association was put onto a firmer legal footing by becoming a Company Limited by Guarantee. Concurrently its constitution was reviewed and updated.
Under her presidency BDHA’s image was rejuvenated when the web-site was re-launched, the advice sheets to members re-written, a strategic plan implemented and the logo re-designed.
Caroline is currently on the editorial board of the journals, Primary Dental Care, Dental Health and Team in Practice.
Away from dentistry, Caroline helps with the Duke of Edinburgh award scheme.
