The GDC has an Interim Memorandum of Understanding (Word, 62.5k) with the Joint Committee for Specialist Training in Dentistry. This Memorandum sets out the roles and responsibilities of the relevant parties involved in specialist training, including the Specialist Dental Education Board.

The Specialist Dental Education Board (SDEB) is responsible for advising the Council’s Education Committee on the implementation of the Specialist Review Group’s recommendations (Word, 118k) and on wider issues relating to the training and listing of dental specialties. 

The current members of the Specialist Dental Education Board are:
