The members of the Working Group are:
- Mabel Slater (Chair, GDC DCP council member)
- David Murphy (GDC lay council member)
- Denis Toppin (GDC dentist council member)
- Gordon Miles (GDC executive)
- Amanda Little (GDC DCP policy leader)
With the need to keep the Group small, it has not been possible to include representatives from all six DCP groups. We are therefore particularly keen to engage the DCP groups, as well as the public, through consultation from an early stage.
The remit for the Group is to:
- Develop a blueprint for the assessment of each of the six DCP groups based on the GDC’s document Developing the Dental Team;
- Consult a broad range of stakeholders from an early stage through a variety of means;
- Produce a proposal for the GDC Registration Committee based on consultation and research. Ultimately, this proposal will be submitted to the GDC Council;
- Establish appropriate methods of quality assurance of the assessments;
- Oversee the implementation of the assessments.
