Education Committee

The Education Committee is responsible for maintaining the quality of the registers and specialist lists by ensuring that those who join our registers are fit to practise at the point of registration and remain so throughout their time as registrants.

The Committee is advised on matters relating to specialist training and listing by the Specialist Dental Education Board.

Policy on continuing professional development (CPD) and revalidation is dealt with by the Revalidation Working Group.

The Education Committee commissioned a Strategic Review of the Council's roles and functions in relation to education. The report of the Strategic Review Group (PDF, 186Kb) was published on 6 May 2008. We will continue to engage with key stakeholders to discuss the recommendations of the report and their implementation.

The Education Committee members are as follows (with effect from 10 November 2009):
