The Education Committee is responsible for:

• quality assurance of all undergraduate dental programmes and DCP training leading to registration with us;
• making policy decisions in relation to the assessment of EEA and overseas dentists and DCPs for registration;
• making policy decisions on the quality assurance of post-qualification education, including specialist training.

The Committee is advised on matters relating to specialist training and listing by the Specialist Dental Education Board.

Policy on continuing professional development (CPD) and revalidation is dealt with by the Revalidation Working Group.

The Education Committee recently commissioned a Strategic Review of the Council's roles and functions in relation to education. The report of the Strategic Review Group was published on 6 May 2008, and we will be holding workshops with key stakeholders to discuss its recommendations. The report is available here.
